Over 21Ruth Gordon's play is the source of this delightful comedy (written by Oscar winner Sidney Buchman, 1941, Here Comes Mr. Jordan) about a newspaper reporter who quits to join the Army during WW2, infuriating his editor and perplexing his wife, a famous novelist and screenwriter. She moves to a run down apartment by the base to be near him, and spends more time dealing with the dilapidated housing than she does with him (he must sleep in the barracks).
